Field hockey is a fast-paced team sport and players use wooden hockey sticks to propel a hard ball towards the goal. The sport began in England towards the end of the 19th century.
Field hockey is usually played outdoors on grass or an artificial turf field. The field is 100 yards long and between 55 and 60 yards wide. Field hockey is a team sport in which a team of players attempt to score goals by hitting, pushing or flicking the ball with the sticks into the opposing team's goal. The aim is to slap the puck/ball around on the field of play and send it through between the opponent’s goal posts.
Field hockey is a tough game that requires lot of rough play. It is a popular sport played by both men and women all over the world and is one of the fastest growing sports for young girls.
