Strength training should be considered for Volleyball players and any athletes who want to excel at their sport. Volleyball is an explosive sport that incorporates all different types of movements in multiple planes of direction. In order to prepare the athlete for these types of movements, one must train that way.
Blocks, spikes and overhand serves are easier to do for tall people thus they have a major advantage over short people during a normal volleyball game. Making all players on the team rotate out and sit removes this advantage.
